In Iceland, the corona infection could cost the tourism industry the equivalent of almost 20 billion kronor in the coming months.

This is shown by calculations from, among others, the Central Bank of Iceland, reports the newspaper Morgunbladid.

In recent years, tourism has been Iceland's most important industry.

Foreigners have accounted for more than 90 percent of tourism in the country, but now the flow of foreign tourists has basically stopped.
