New Zeeland will start charging foreign tourists up to NZ$40 (US$230) for visiting the country's most popular tourist destinations. In a speech on Saturday, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said the revenue, estimated at NZ$62 million annually (US$353 million), would be reinvested in the destinations. Luxon also said he had heard that foreign visitors "are shocked that they can visit some of the most beautiful places in the world for free."
