The purple Pågatågen have become part of the Skåne landscape and they are very popular with the people of Skåne. With a well-developed network of stations, they are also important in maintaining Skåne as an attractive region to live, work and study in.
In 2023, this will be even more evident when two important railway construction projects in Skåne are completed. The double track between Ängelholm and Maria and the four-track between Malmö and Lund. This will also increase the possibility of running even more passenger trains in Skåne.

Over the years, traffic has developed and we see daily examples of how Pågatågen connects Skåne and enables fast transport throughout the region. Throughout 2023, the 40th anniversary of the Pågatågen will be celebrated throughout Skåne. On the anniversary on January 9, there was a special celebration with singing and music at Malmö C. After this celebration, a decorated birthday train will roll through Skåne. The Railway Museum in Ängelholm has a special Pågatågen corner from January to June, and those traveling during the year will encounter historical flashbacks and quizzes about the Pågatågen. Some other surprises are also promised.

Purple Pågatågen facts
The Pågatågen stops at 77 stations in Skåne, of which 55 are pure Pågatågen stations where only the purple trains stop.
The maximum speed of a train is 160km/h. A train set (not coupled) has 228 seats.
