The Dock Hotel in Södertälje opens today, July 3, Paloma Pool Club & Spa - a 2,000 square meter venture that combines spa, pool club, training, treatments and gastronomy with inspiration from Palm Springs, Los Angeles and Mexico.
The new facility is designed as a social meeting place where guests can alternate between heated pools, saunas, treatments and dining experiences in an environment that changes from quiet days to lively summer evenings.
One of the most unique experiences is the so-called champagne pool, where thousands of small bubbles provide a soft and relaxing massage. The spa also offers experience showers, cold baths and three different sauna experiences. Signature treatments include Fix My Glow – Head To Toe, which combines body wrap and facial treatment, as well as Strawberry & Coconut Dream, a massage and skincare treatment inspired by the scents of summer.
For groups, there are special treatment rooms where private spa rituals and tailored experiences can be booked for celebrations, corporate events and retreats.
– Södertälje has a strong historical identity as a health resort, and when we developed Paloma Pool Club & Spa we wanted to both preserve and renew this story. Our goal is to create a place where relaxation and pulse coexist in an international and modern environment, says Jonas Karlsson, CEO of The Dock Hotel.
The food and beverage offerings are also an important part of the concept. The menu draws inspiration from the American West Coast and Mexico, with dishes such as tostadas, guacamole and spicy scampi cocktail. The beverage offerings include adaptogenic smoothies, Paloma Spritz, Margaritas and other signature cocktails.
During the summer, the hotel's Pool Club becomes a central meeting place with a heated outdoor pool, sun loungers, boules courts and views of the Södertälje Canal.
The interior design differs from the hotel's industrial harbor character and is instead characterized by warm colors, natural materials and a relaxed resort feel.
– We wanted to create the feeling of stepping straight into a pool club in Palm Springs or Los Angeles, while at the same time making the environment feel natural by the water in Södertälje. The goal is for guests to get into a holiday mood just 30 minutes from Stockholm, says Spik Studios, who were responsible for the interior design concept.
Paloma Pool Club & Spa covers two floors. On the entrance floor there is the large indoor pool, saunas, treatment area and social areas. One floor up is the Pool Club with another heated pool, terrace, sun loungers and activities. The facility is complemented by a modern gym and will become a new destination for spa, meetings and social experiences in Södertälje.
