The entry ban to Sweden from countries outside the EU has been further extended, the government announced today. The ban is now in effect until October 31.

The entry ban to the EU via Sweden was introduced on 19 March and has been extended several times. The decision is in line with the recommendations of the European Commission and the Council of Ministers. EU residents still have the right to enter Sweden, as do residents of Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland, among others.

As before, the entry ban does not apply to Swedish citizens or to people with a residence permit in Sweden, regardless of which country they travel from to Sweden.
