That's how much the American company Ocean Infinity will get, which will search for the missing aircraft MH370 — if it succeeds.
In the event of failure, the salary will be forfeited altogether.

The company is chartering the Norwegian research vessel Seabed Constructor, which is heading out into the Indian Ocean with eight unmanned underwater vehicles.

They have initially been allocated an area of 25,000 square kilometers. If the aircraft is found within the first 5,000 square kilometers, the company will receive the equivalent of approximately SEK 163 million. The further away it is found, the greater the sum, with a cap of SEK 573 million.

The search operation will begin in mid-January and will continue for 90 days.

The Boeing 777 plane disappeared in March 2014 with 239 passengers on board.
