Kjell-Åke Westin has a solid and successful career in the aviation industry. During his 40 years in the industry, he has worked as Airport Director for Stockholm Arlanda Airport, but also as CEO of airlines and Airport Director at Bromma Airport. Kjell-Åke is a key figure in Arlandastad Group's investment in Stockholm Skavsta Airport to put the airport on the national and international map.
Arlandastad Group and Nyköping Municipality have appointed the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for Stockholm Skavsta Airport. Kjell-Åke Westin was proposed, who has extensive experience in development work for several airports in Sweden. During his time at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, he worked to further develop the commercial development with various stakeholders and, together with a large team, a new and modern environmental permit for the operation was developed. As Airport Director at Bromma Airport, he laid the foundation for a modern city airport. For Stockholm Skavsta Airport, he will investigate what type of flights and operations should be in place with the ambition to future-proof the operation.
– The investment in Stockholm Skavsta Airport is too exciting a project to turn down. I was an advisor to Arlandastad Group during the acquisition process. At that time, I really got the urge to be involved in the further development myself as I saw the great potential for the airport. When I was later asked by Dieter Sand, I said yes straight away. Working with a forward-thinking property company in symbiosis with the municipality of Nyköping will be really good for the entire area, says Kjell-Åke.

As the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stockholm Skavsta Airport, Kjell-Åke will focus on setting the direction for the airport and establishing the company's vision. For him, it is important to have a stable foundation to stand on and have a clear rooted vision that the entire team is driven by.
– There is an incredible amount of expertise and experience within Stockholm Skavsta Airport. That is why I will start by listening to what the team needs, analyzing the current situation and based on that, working on a strong foundation to stand on. It is a work that is done together with everyone in the team.
