King Carl XVI Gustaf puts a stop to Gröna Lund's plans to buy land on Djurgården, writes Swedish Daily Newspaper.

The King's announcement comes in connection with Gröna Lund's plans to expand the amusement park on a plot of land adjacent to the current area.

The land where the expansion is planned is largely already owned by Gröna Lund. A beach plot of approximately 1,000 square meters is managed by the Royal Djurgårdsförvaltningen and it is this area that the King is putting a stop to.

According to the court, use of the land must be through lease, the newspaper writes.
