The small island nation of the Cook Islands in the Pacific Ocean has grown tired of its colonial name and is considering a name change.
The question is for what.
The Polynesian country, which consists of 15 islands with a total population of 17,500, is named after British explorer James Cook, but is now looking for something with local culture and history.
The newly established name change committee is now sifting through the 60 name suggestions to find a suitable proposal for April, when the government is due to make a decision on the matter, The Guardian reports. None of the options have been made public, but one is said to be the already-used local name Avaiki Nui.
