Swedavia refers to long security checks for new employees as a reason for the long queues at security checks at Arlanda.

But Minister of the Interior and Justice Morgan Johansson states Dagens Industri that it is not appropriate to "slacken" with security checks of employees to reduce queues.

– You can also ask Swedavia to be a little more proactive when recruiting people, he says.

Säpo is responsible for the security checks of new employees at Swedavia. Morgan Johansson does not believe that more money is needed for Säpo to make the checks go faster.

– If you recruit on time, and submit the names on time, you have more time to ensure that they get into place, says Morgan Johansson.

Swedavia tells Dagens Industri that they are responsible for the long queues, but that the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic has contributed to them waiting to carry out new recruitments.
