The National Audit Office has submitted a review to the Riksdag on Thursday morning in which the Swedish Transport Administration's methods for combating train delays are severely criticized, writes Today's News.
Among other things, it is highlighted that the money that could have been spent on track maintenance has instead gone to the administration of two systems that are not working.
The systems have been in place for ten and almost five years respectively. But punctuality for passenger trains is basically the same as it was 20 years ago. For fast and long-distance trains, it is worse than it was 20 years ago, the newspaper writes.
