New attack on tourists in Mallorca

Remove

Mallorca is one of the most popular holiday destinations for both Swedes and other Europeans. In recent years, the locals have become fed up – and now they are dealing another hard blow to tourism in the city of Palma.

Holiday rentals, party boats and hostels are some of the things that will be banned in the near future, reports the Majorca Daily Bulletin.

It will no longer be allowed to rent out accommodations through services such as Airbnb, according to new rules presented by Palma Mayor Jaime Martinez on Tuesday.

It is hoped that the ban will lead to more homes becoming available for long-term rentals.
