Passport machine repaired but queue problems remain

Remove

Passport machine in Finland is fixed, reports P4 Varmland.

But the passport queue is very long and it will take a large part of the summer before they catch up with production and normal waiting times of five days.

– We have a debt as usual and a waiting time of about 30 days right now. We will not see any change in the times in June, says Per Engström, who is the national commander for passports in Sweden at the police.

– But hopefully we will see an improvement in July, he continues.

He also recommends that anyone traveling within the EU, EEA and Schengen countries, who does not yet have a passport, obtain a national ID card.
