A record number of passports are now awaiting collection at the police station in Umeå, the police write on their website.

In Umeå, the reception is now open longer than usual so that more people can collect their passports in time.

The police also write that there are many available appointment times for passports – at the same time as several people do not turn up for their booked appointment.

– We're seeing that there are many available appointments across the country. During week 43, there were well over 10,000 appointments that weren't booked, and many people didn't show up for their booked appointment, says Per Engström, national commander for the national special event passport.
