This morning, ATL revealed that hotel giant Strawberry is ceasing to offer butter in many of its hotels.

The news is now being partly refuted and called a ”truth with modification”, according to GP. The Finnish, plant-based variant will become the standard choice – but butter will still be used in both cooking and on breakfast buffets.

– It is difficult to make a good hollandaise without regular butter, so we are not removing butter from the hotels, says Torgeir Silseth, CEO of Nordic Choice Hotels, in a press release.

– But we substitute it as standard where regular butter isn't needed for consistency or flavour.
