Shipping company Tallink Silja Line is changing the route of the ferry Silja Serenade. Instead of running between Helsinki and Stockholm, it will run to Riga instead. This is reported by the Finnish daily newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet.

According to the newspaper, those who have booked seats on the tours between Stockholm and Helsinki will instead be offered seats on the tours to Riga.

The route change is valid for the year from August 30th.

Tallink Silja's ship Silja Symphony continues to operate between Helsinki and Stockholm.

Earlier in July, Tallink Silja laid off 300 Swedes who worked on the ships Galaxy and Symphony.
