The strike threat has been averted and German airline giant Lufthansa can breathe a sigh of relief.

This after the ground staff, represented by the Ver.di union, agreed with Lufthansa on a new collective agreement, writes The Mirror.

The agreement guarantees incremental wage increases for 20,000 employees.

A one-day strike last week caused 1,000 cancellations.
