The coronavirus is hitting the travel industry hard and it is not certain that travelers will be able to get money back for canceled trips.
– It is a disaster of epic proportions, says Didrik von Seth, secretary general of SRF, the Swedish Travel Agency and Tour Operator Association, in Morgonstudion.

Tourists who book their trip through travel agencies or tour operators are usually entitled to a refund within two weeks if the trip is canceled.

But at the moment, the companies cannot afford to pay out the money because they have not received compensation from the airlines.

“The travel industry is in a vise,” says Didrik von Seth.
