After months of curious peeping and scaffolding, it has finally become a reality: Trollskogen is now open. Today, May 29, Kolmården inaugurated its new fairy tale forest – an imaginative area where play, mystery and a thirst for discovery meet innovation and accessibility. Trollskogen is the largest expansion of Bamse Värld at Kolmården to date.

Today, May 29th, it was finally the premiere of Trollskogen! Trollskogen is Kolmården's largest expansion of Bamse Värld to date – a 4,000 square meter adventure where children and adults can explore the wonderful Play Castle, splash around in water games, take on exciting challenges in Hia Hia's Dragon Nest and go on a journey of discovery in the Sea Pirates' Garden.

– Trollskogen is more than a new area. It is a place where children's imaginations can flourish and where parents have the opportunity to step into the children's world. To inaugurate this as the new CEO feels both exciting and honorable. Trollskogen is a fantastic example of how we want to create magical experiences with care and quality, says Jeanette Sandberg, CEO of Kolmården.

The area is created with the children's perspective in focus, both in terms of play, feel and accessibility. Behind the concept is Jakob Fagerström, Creative Director at Parks and Resorts, who, together with a dedicated team, has created a unique world that blends into nature.

– It is important to remember that accessibility is not only about physical accessibility, such as mobility impairments, but also about catering for different sensory experiences for people with visual impairments, hearing impairments or neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Our ambition has been to create a safe, inspiring and inclusive world where every child can be the hero of their own story, says Jakob Fagerström.

A unique detail in Trollskogen is that parts of the area are designed with innovative materials that both add character and promote the environment.

“We use an innovative form of concrete that makes it possible to apply moss spores directly to the surface. Over time, the moss grows naturally and creates a living, protective layer that is not only beautiful but also increases biodiversity,” says Jakob Fagerström.

The Troll Forest is strongly rooted in Bamse's world, but with an expression that brings to mind both the past and the present.

– The characters are taken from Bamse's stories from the 60s onwards. We cherish the heritage but also want to make room for new interpretations and a modern expression. We are very happy to be able to introduce the Witch Hia Hia as this year's new character in the Troll Forest at Bamse's World. The children will be able to meet her in the park, concludes Jeanette Sandberg.
