Last summer, one of Norway's biggest tourist attractions, the scenic road called Trollstigen, was closed due to several rock falls.
But today at 10 am, after a long avalanche protection effort, the stretch of road has been opened to traffic again.
Not surprisingly, this has resulted in long traffic jams as many people have made the pilgrimage to the site before the opening.
– Now I'm smiling. This is a good day, says Jan Peter Valde, acting mayor of Rauma, to Norwegian TV2.
