The world's longest cable car for sale

Remove

The owners of the cable car in Norsjö, approximately eighty kilometers west of Skellefteå, have decided to sell the facility, reports SVT Västerbotten.

The decision to close was made in August last year after an inspection found several deficiencies in the facility. Now the owners are hoping that someone will take over the operations, which also consist of a conference and restaurant section.

The cable car in Norsjö has attracted many tourists over the years and is, at 96 kilometers, the world's longest. In recent years, only a shorter section of 13 km has been used for passenger traffic.

The facility was built in the 1940s for the shipping of copper ore and ran between Kristineberg in the west and Boliden in the east.
