The summer heat is coming back, but it's important to take the opportunity to enjoy it.
It may have disappeared again by next week.
– The heat is rising from Thursday, but then it looks like the cold air is back again, says SVT meteorologist Åsa Rasmussen.
Just as many Swedes were about to take their vacation, the cold shower came. Literally. July has been unusually cold so far and many in the cottages are hoping for a turnaround. It now looks like it's coming, if only temporarily.
– The heat will come in and stay on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and partly on Monday too. But then it looks like the cold air will be back again at the beginning of next week, says SVT's meteorologist Åsa Rasmussen.
The reason why we have had such a cold start to July is largely the fault of the so-called jet streams. According to Åsa Rasmussen, the air currents have been locked south of Sweden throughout July and have drawn in cold air, but now it looks like they will move north of Sweden instead, thereby providing warmer winds.
But we won't see temperatures similar to those in June for a while, according to Åsa.
– Maybe an occasional day, but it doesn't look like it's going to be that warm. It looks like we'll get between 20 and 25 degrees, and probably some showers too.
