In Sweden, restrictions and entry requirements for travelers from the Nordic countries, the EU and the EEA have been lifted. However, in several other countries, the requirements still remain – and further restrictions may be added at short notice.

Therefore, always check the information for each country before you pack your bag – and while you are traveling.

SPAIN

Anyone entering the country by air must complete a health declaration no earlier than 48 hours before arrival. Travelers over the age of 12 who are entering from a risk area (Sweden is one, according to Spain's definition) also need to present a special certificate showing that they are vaccinated, have tested negative or have recovered from COVID-19. The rules for the certificate differ depending on whether they are issued by an EU country or a non-EU country.

Vaccination certificates currently have a validity limit of nine months in Spain.

Travelers entering by land do not need to fill out the form, but do need to present the certificate.

As of February 10, it is no longer a requirement to wear a face mask outdoors as long as a safety distance of 1.5 meters can be maintained. However, it remains a requirement indoors. The face mask requirement applies to people over the age of six.

There are also local regulations that you need to keep an eye on.

UK

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, there are still requirements for face masks on public transport and in certain indoor environments – but they have been removed in England.

As of February 11, the United Kingdom is changing its entry rules. Anyone who is fully vaccinated does not need to be tested before entering, nor does they need to be quarantined after entering. However, a special form must be filled out, with information about, among other things, travel companions, travel route and vaccinations.

However, anyone who is not fully vaccinated must present a negative PCR test that is no more than two days old upon entry. In addition, a new PCR test must be taken upon entry, and this test must be booked in advance. The form with information about the trip must also be completed.

FRANCE

Unvaccinated travelers, as well as children over the age of 12, must present either a negative COVID test or proof of having had an infection within the past four months upon entry. Vaccinated travelers do not need to present a negative COVID test upon entry.

A vaccination certificate is required to go to restaurants, sports matches and cultural events, among other things. A valid vaccination certificate means that you have taken three doses of vaccine, have had a confirmed infection in the last four months, have taken the second dose of vaccine no later than seven months ago or that you cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons.

ITALY

Upon entry, approved COVID proof is required for everyone over the age of six, which means either a vaccination certificate, negative COVID test, or a COVID test within the last six months.

For those without a valid document, there are requirements for mandatory quarantine and health monitoring for five days.

To be able to attend events, eat at restaurants, go to museums, use local transport and other activities in Italy, you must be able to show a valid European Covid certificate issued after vaccination or a declaration of health.

GERMANY

Face masks are required in stores and on public transport. For museums, sports and cultural events, either proof of vaccination or a completed Covid test is required. For eating out, most require the federal states, in addition to proof of vaccination, a current negative test or a third dose of vaccine.

Unvaccinated people are allowed to meet a maximum of two people from another household. For vaccinated people, the rule is a maximum of 10 people.

Sweden is classified as a high-risk area by Germany, which means special entry regulations, including a requirement for a digital notification before entry. Proof of vaccination, negative test result or proof of having undergone Covid are required for everyone over six years of age upon entry.

Those without proof of vaccination or proof of having passed Covid will need to be quarantined for ten days from arrival. If the test is negative, the quarantine can be ended

Denmark

All restrictions have been lifted in the country.

Upon entry, the traveler must certify that they are fully vaccinated or have previously been infected with COVID.

For an unvaccinated person, a negative test is required upon entry, or a test no later than 24 hours after entry.

Exceptions to entry requirements are: Residents in the Swedish border region, children under 15 years of age, transit travelers to and from Bornholm and Kastrup, travelers leaving Denmark within 24 hours.

Norway

To enter Norway, registration is required for anyone over the age of 16. A negative PCR or rapid test, not older than 24 hours, is required if you are over the age of 18 and cannot present a certificate of being fully vaccinated.

The majority of restrictions have been removed, but the recommendation to keep a distance of one meter and to use face masks in shops and on public transport still applies.

Finland

There are now no entry requirements for travelers from Sweden to Finland.

Some local restrictions remain in the country, including restrictions on public services, public events and gatherings, and recommendations to use face masks.

THAILAND

Fully vaccinated travelers need a so-called "Thailand passport" and a negative PCR test. Upon entry, two additional tests are required, on day one and day five, as well as one night in a pre-booked hotel while waiting for test results at each sampling.

For unvaccinated travelers, in addition to a Thai passport and negative test, quarantine is also required for 10 days after entry.

Almost the entire country requires face masks in public spaces, both indoors and outdoors, and some provinces still have other restrictions. The measures change frequently, so you should stay up to date with the local authorities where you are.

United States of America

Face masks are still mandatory in many places in the U.S. Other restrictions vary by state and can change at short notice. Here you will findyou and your respective state restrictions.

The entry ban for vaccinated travelers has been lifted, upon entry, full vaccination is required no later than 14 days before arrival. For children and young people under 18 years of age, vaccination is not required, but a negative corona test taken before departure to the USA is required. How old the test can be depends on vaccination status and age.

AUSTRALIA

Australia has lifted most restrictions, but it differs in different parts of the country where there are local regulations. In some states, for example, face masks are still a requirement.

For entry, the traveler must be vaccinated no later than 14 days before departure. Exceptions are made for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons and for children under 12 years of age.

You must meet the requirements of the state you are arriving in and the areas you plan to travel to, which may include testing and quarantine. You can view restrictions in respective state.

BRAZIL

Face masks are required in public spaces, indoors and on public transport. In some regions, a state of emergency has been declared to allow for rapid implementation of measures to prevent infection. It is therefore necessary to stay up to date with local authorities on what applies where you are.

Travelers must be fully vaccinated and present a negative COVID test. Either an antigen test done within 24 hours or a negative RT-PCR test done within 72 hours before check-in.

CHINA

The country maintains strict restrictions and adheres to the principle of "zero tolerance", which means mass testing, lockdowns and quarantine in the event of local outbreaks.

A general entry ban applies to China, exceptions for entry are made based on a special assessment by the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm.

If permission is granted for entry, a Covid test and antigen test are required before departure. Upon entry, an additional Covid test and three weeks of quarantine at designated quarantine hotels are required.
