The Swedish ski resort industry association has taken several measures to reduce the spread of infection ahead of the winter season.

The organization writes this in a letter to Minister for Rural Affairs Jennie Nilsson (S), which the news agency Siren has noticed.

The corona pandemic means that Swedish ski resorts are facing an uncertain winter.

Now, the industry organization SLAO has sent a letter to Minister of Rural Affairs Jennie Nilsson in which SLAO describes how the winter season will be adjusted due to the pandemic. Among other things, there will be no après-ski activities, the queuing systems will be adjusted to reduce the risk of congestion and access to heated cabins will be limited.

Several facilities already have acute liquidity problems due to last season's mild winter and the fact that several operations chose to close this spring due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus, SLAO notes.

According to SLAO, the more than 200 ski resorts in Sweden sold 1.7 billion kronor in lift tickets in 2018/2019. The early closure last year meant a loss of revenue of around 300 million kronor, the organization writes.
