When you fly from an EU country or with an airline based in an EU country, aviation regulation. According to it, the airline must refund the ticket cost for a canceled trip within seven days. But since the corona pandemic has caused several million trips to be canceled, hundreds of thousands of SAS travelers are still waiting for compensation.

– Actually, there are no exceptions, but seven days apply. Due to the extreme situation we are in, you may have to wait, but you should not have to wait too long, says Adam Dahlin, a counselor at the Swedish Consumer Agency's service. Hello consumer.

In the first instance, the traveller should contact the airline for compensation. However, it is also possible to contact the Swedish Enforcement Authority, and if the trip was purchased with a credit card, there are possibilities to get money back through them. If the traveller and the airline do not agree that a refund should be made, it is also possible to contact the General Advertising Board.
