TUI's booking statistics for the Easter holidays show that Swedes this year are choosing a mix of destinations around the Mediterranean and more distant destinations. Just like in previous years, Gran Canaria is at the top.
“As Easter falls in April this year, we are seeing a clear mix of destinations. Many are choosing the Mediterranean where the season is just starting, while Thailand and other more distant destinations remain popular,” says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
Premiere for summer destinations
This year's Easter break also marks the start of summer charter traffic. The first charter trips will take place to destinations such as Cyprus and Mallorca.
– This year, Easter holidaymakers will have the opportunity to be the first to visit some of our most popular summer destinations. In early April, you can enjoy pleasant early summer heat around the Mediterranean, a calmer pace and less crowds, says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
