Hay's Travel, the buyer of bankrupt travel giant Thomas Cook, is hiring almost 1,500 new people. It reports The Guardian. 

Hay's Travel has already rehired 2,330 people who previously worked at Thomas Cook since the takeover on 9 October, but says the new recruitment of 1,500 is for new roles. The new recruitment includes 500 positions as currency exchange workers across all physical travel agencies, 737 apprentices and 200 employees for Hay's head office.

The company has so far reopened 450 of the 55 travel agencies across the UK that closed due to the collapse. Hay's Travel had 190 stores before the addition.

”We are further expanding our staff to ensure we have the highest level of customer service in all stores and at our skin office,” says John Hays, who founded the company in the 1980s and at one time had the UK’s largest travel company. 

The rights to the Thomas Cook brand were bought by the previous major owner, Chinese Fosun, in early November this year.
