Tickets for the first few days of opening sold out quickly when Shanghai Disneyland opened its ticket gates on Friday. The theme park will reopen next week after being closed for three months.

Tickets for Monday, May 11, the opening day when the park begins welcoming visitors again, through May 14 are no longer available on Disneyland's booking site, and the weekend dates of May 16-17 are also expected to be sold out. Chinese ticket sales companies Fliggy and MeiTuan have also sold out of their allocated tickets for the dates of May 11 to 16, Reuters reports.

However, the park is expected to have significantly lower occupancy than normal. The Chinese government has reportedly asked Disney to limit visitor numbers to 30 percent of capacity. In 2018, the park had 11.8 million visitors.

Disneyland Shanghai closed operations as early as January 25 to comply with Chinese social distancing regulations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Disney has since closed its other parks around the world as the coronavirus spread.

During Walt Disney's latest earnings conference, the company stated that the closed parks will cost the company $1 billion in profit.
