The international city guide platform, Time Out, is now officially establishing itself in Sweden. The platform is already present in over 350 cities in over 60 countries and now wants to guide both Swedish locals and international visitors to the best the country has to offer.

The venture is backed by Time Out Nordics, which was launched in Finland in autumn 2025 by the Finnish media group A-lehdet.

– With our launch, we are giving you what Time Out is best known for – insider knowledge and a hand-picked selection of food, culture, and nightlife, quality-assured by those who live in the cities and know them best, says Johanna Jackson, Content Manager for Time Out Sweden.

Local experts in focus

Time Out builds its content on recommendations from local journalists and writers rather than user-generated reviews or AI-generated content.

– Every single recommendation is based on human experience. We have done the hard graft, eaten at the restaurants, swum at the beaches and tasted the ice cream. All so that our readers can enjoy the summer in the best possible way, says Johanna Jackson.

Over 20 journalists from all over Sweden have contributed to the first guides, which cover everything from restaurants and nightlife in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö to lesser-known destinations and experiences around the country.

Focusing on Swedish summer

In connection with the launch, Time Out is publishing its first Swedish summer guides, including the lists “The 25 best experiences in Sweden this summer, from north to south” or “101 things to do in Stockholm this summer”.

The platform will subsequently be continuously updated with new tips on restaurants, culture, events, and city life.

– See us as your new, reliable shortcut to maximising city life, says Johanna Jackson.
