International tourism to Spain plunged 99 percent in June compared to the same month in 2019, figures from the country's statistics agency show. That's still a more positive outcome than in the previous two months, when not a single foreign tourist visit was recorded.

Tourism to Spain grew steadily until March, when the spread of the novel coronavirus took hold. So far this year, 11.8 million foreign tourists have visited the country, which is 71 percent fewer than in the same period last year.
