Tourism in Uddevalla continues to develop strongly. When the whole of 2025 is now summed up, the total number of guest nights in the municipality amounted to 403,620, an increase of 7.9 % compared to 2024. This means that Uddevalla is growing significantly more than both Bohuslän (+2.6 %) and Sweden as a whole (+4.3 %).
– ”Now that we can sum up the whole of 2025, we see a very strong result for tourism in Uddevalla. The fact that both Swedish and international guests are choosing us to an increasing extent shows that the municipality's attractiveness continues to strengthen. The fact that we are also growing more than both Bohuslän and the country as a whole is a clear statement of strength for the entire municipality,” says Roger Salomonsson, Marketing Manager at Visit Uddevalla.
Growth in both hotels and camping
Hotels in Uddevalla accounted for the strongest development with 141,847 guest nights, an increase of 14.2 % over the full year. Camping tourism increased by 2.1 % to 219,345 guest nights. Other facility types also contributed to the growth, with an increase of almost 21.8 %.
Swedish guest nights dominate
Swedish visitors continue to account for the majority of tourism in Uddevalla. The number of domestic guest nights in 2025 amounted to 317,562, an increase of 14,782 compared to 2024.
Swedish guest nights also increased in Bohuslän (+37,550), mainly in camping and other types of facilities. At the national level, Swedish guest nights grew by 2.38 million (+4.7 million).
Sharp increase in international guests
Foreign guest nights in Uddevalla increased sharply in 2025, by 24.4 million. Norway remains the largest market, followed by Germany.
International guest nights also increased in Bohuslän (+4.4 %), mainly due to a strong increase from Germany (+22,538). At the same time, markets such as the Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland also increased.
Nationally, foreign guest nights increased by 10.8 million to 18.6 million, with France and the Netherlands, among others, developing strongly.
