The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board has appointed Aviareps to represent them in the Nordic and Baltic market (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) with a one-year contract starting from 17 October 2022.

Aviarep's mission is to showcase Malaysia as a multi-faceted tourist destination and increase awareness of Malaysia as a top tourist destination in the Nordic market, in close collaboration with local partners.

The number of visitors from the Nordic region to Malaysia exceeded 80,000 in 2019 and all Nordic markets showed promising growth in the first months of 2020. Malaysia is now fully open without restrictions after the Covid lockdown and is now striving to once again stimulate increased growth in the market through the designation.

Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, says:

”Malaysia has much to offer visitors as a tourist destination and we are keen to welcome back visitors from the Nordic region to the wide range of experiences on offer, including unique natural landscapes, world heritage sites, city breaks, cultural and culinary diversity. Here you will be greeted with warmth, not only from the tropical climate, but also through the genuine hospitality of the Malaysian people. We are very pleased to have Aviareps as our partner and look forward to working with them to strengthen our marketing strategies in close collaboration with Nordic partners.”

Tapani Kauhanen, General Manager, AVIAREPS Nordic Countries, says:

”It is a great honor for Aviareps to represent Malaysia in the Nordic and Baltic markets. This multicultural country with a tropical climate that offers everything from a vibrant city to stunning nature and wonderful beaches is an ideal travel destination for us in the Nordics. Our professional teams in the travel market and our local presence in each Nordic country are a great asset to spread the word and achieve the set goals. At the same time, we are happy that Helen Eriksson is with us at Aviareps and the main account manager for special expertise and continuity.”
