Tourists back – Spanish unemployment hits record low

Tourists returned, and unemployment in Spain fell by a record 82,583 people in August, a 2.42 percent drop in the number of unemployed people. This is the largest drop since statistics began in 1996, according to the Spanish Ministry of Labor.

In the second quarter, Spain's unemployment rate was 15.3 percent, down from 15.9 percent in the first quarter.

In total, there are now over 3.3 million unemployed in Spain.
