Electrical faults, track faults and power outages have caused cancelled departures and delays in train traffic. Train traffic on Wednesday morning was chaotic and on the Märsta-Upplands Väsby and Västerhaninge-Nynäshamn routes, trains are also cancelled in the afternoon.
First there was a signal failure south of Stockholm early Wednesday morning. Then there was a track failure and at nine o'clock there was also a power outage north of the city.
– It has a big impact on those north of the city, says Andreas Strömberg, press manager at SL.
After lunch, the routes Märsta-Upplands Väsby and Västerhaninge-Nynäshamn are cancelled and replaced by buses.
The faults that remain from the morning are both an electrical fault and a signal fault. SL announces that there is no reliable forecast for when the faults will be fixed but expects them to continue during rush hour on Wednesday afternoon.
There is reduced traffic on the routes and this is expected to last until 9:45 PM.
