Negotiations between the Swedish Road Transport Employers' Association and the Swedish Transport Workers' Association have stalled, Transport writes on its website. homepage.

The parties have not met on issues such as higher salaries, the distribution of salary space based on experience, and how the guaranteed salary should be increased.

– To get more people into the profession and to stay, we need to have more stable salary levels, where experience and competence are rewarded. Even though employers share the taxi industry's problem picture, they say no to all necessary solutions, says Tommy Wreeth, chairman of the Transport union.

If the parties have not reached an agreement by August 25, conflict will break out in two stages. First a blockade on August 25 and then a strike on September 4.

The strike notice affects taxi companies in the cities of Varberg, Helsingborg, Malmö, Lund, Ystad, Kristianstad, Västervik, Örebro, Gothenburg, Grästorp, Vara, Nossebro, Tjörn and Trollhättan.
