The package travel company TUI, headquartered in Germany and listed in London, has had a strong booking trend during the summer and also for the upcoming winter season.

The company stated this on Tuesday while reiterating its outlook for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2023.

TUI had 13.7 million bookings last summer, an increase of 5 percent compared to the previous summer. Summer bookings also reached 96 percent of pre-pandemic levels.

”"Had it not been for the events in recent months that were beyond our control, not least the forest fires in Rhodes, we would have performed better than expected," said TUI CEO Sebastian Ebel in a comment according to Reuters.

According to TUI, bookings for the upcoming winter season are 15 percent higher than last winter.

TUI continues to expect underlying operating profit to increase significantly in the fourth quarter and for the full financial year, and the company also forecasts continued profit growth in 2025 and 2026.

At 9:15 a.m. Swedish time, TUI shares had risen by approximately 4 percent on the London Stock Exchange.
