Several thousand suitcases cannot find their owner at the airport.

To solve this problem, Germany is auctioning off the bags. But as a buyer, you don't know what the bag contains; you have to buy the bag first to see its contents.

German airports collect over 4,000 suitcases per year that cannot be found. To solve this problem, the suitcases are auctioned off, but the buyer is not allowed to know what the suitcase contains, but only after the purchase is made. The contents can therefore be anything. The most common are clothes and toiletries.

Similar auctions are held in Denmark and England. If you have lost your bag in Sweden, there is a 99 percent chance that you will get it back, if not, it will be sent to Denmark in Rödovre. The vast majority of lost bags wait at least six months before they are resold in case the owner turns up.
