The highest prize in this year's Christmas calendar lottery from the Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope is flight tickets to Dubai for SEK 20,000 with the airline Emirates.
This year, 24 prizes will be raffled off from as many travel and hospitality companies, plus two extra prizes each day. Prizes include airline tickets, rental cars, cruises, package holidays, hotel stays, train tickets, archipelago tours and guided city walks. The ticket price is 125 kronor.
The Christmas Calendar Lottery is actually a fundraising effort for vulnerable children, carried out by the Swedish travel industry's own children's fund New Hope. The fundraising in the form of a physical scratch-off lottery with permission from the Swedish Gambling Authority has been carried out annually since the mid-1990s. The Travel Industry Children's Fund has been operating since 1989.
The profit from the sale of the Christmas calendar is distributed by the Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope between the recipient organizations for vulnerable children in the world that the children's fund is involved in. With 4,000 Christmas calendars sold, over 400,000 SEK goes primarily to schools, education, school medical care and healthcare.
The Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope is controlled by the Swedish Fundraising Control Board and has a 90-account.

Corporate support for New Hope becomes part of the company's social sustainability work to achieve the UN's global sustainability goals, Agenda 2030
By supporting the Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope, donors make a concrete contribution to compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and, above all, four of the UN's global sustainability goals, which can be difficult for companies to work with on their own: Agenda 2030 goal 1: No poverty, Agenda 2030 goal 2: No hunger, Agenda 2030 goal 3: Good health and well-being, Agenda 2030 goal 4: Good education for all.
The Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope, which is controlled by the Swedish Fundraising Control Board, focuses on supporting small, legitimate and controlled organizations and activities in extremely poor and vulnerable places in the world, with weak social protection structures. More about the recipients can be found at www.newhope.se
In accordance with the statutes, New Hope's collected funds go to give children and young people the opportunity for a better and safer life and future by enabling access to school and preventive school health care.
Agenda 2030 goal 1: No poverty

Education and knowledge are a well-proven and effective way to combat poverty. Knowledge and education enable people to move from a worse situation to a better one. Through the Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope, funds raised go to making schools, education and knowledge-raising activities available to children and young people in extremely poor and vulnerable areas of the world. In this way, opportunities are created for children to shape their own future.
Agenda 2030 goal 2: No hunger
https://www.globalamalen.se/om-globala-malen/mal-2-ingen-hunger/
School meals are an important element in attracting children and young people in extremely poor environments and cultural contexts to schooling and education, where work is seen as the most important and perhaps the only path to a future. In some cases, school meals are also the only meals for school children. By offering school meals and education, the work to achieve several of the UN's global sustainability goals is combined.
Agenda 2030 Goal 3: Good health and well-being
https://www.globalamalen.se/om-globala-malen/mal-3-halsa-och-valbefinnande/
Basic and simple school health care ensures the health of students and provides the opportunity for follow-up on physical and mental development. School health care creates the opportunity for knowledge-raising activities to improve young people's physical development, sexual health and knowledge about contraception. It also creates the opportunity to reach students' families and home environments with, among other things, health-promoting, medical and hygiene-improving interventions and knowledge.
Agenda 2030 goal 4: Quality education for all

The Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope works long-term to make school and education accessible to children and young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity. New Hope also works to constantly improve school and educational environments. By contributing to attraction-enhancing initiatives, among other things, competent teachers are attracted to create good educational environments and opportunities for young people without financial means.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
The Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope's focus on improving the conditions for children and young people to be able to shape their own future through school, education and school health care, contributes directly to compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child is formulated for states, but organizations such as the Swedish travel industry's children's fund New Hope can also actively contribute to compliance with the convention.
By ensuring that the funds raised by the politically and religiously independent fundraising organization New Hope go exclusively to schools, education and school health care, the work embraces most of the intentions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child to ensure and improve children's quality of life and respect children's rights.
An important element is that through New Hope's care, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and children's rights are made known to the students who attend the schools that receive support from the Travel Industry Children's Fund New Hope.
