During the second quarter, travel increased by 3 per cent compared to the corresponding quarter last year, which contributed to an improved operating result. Overall, during the first half of the year, travel increased by 6 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. Both travellers' willingness to recommend SJ AB and SJ's reputation also strengthened during the quarter compared to the previous year.

The most important thing is that during the first half of the year, we have offered more stable and reliable travel to our passengers, something all SJ employees have contributed to, says Monica Lingegård, President and CEO.
The operating profit for the second quarter of 2025 amounted to SEK 287 million (226). It is primarily SJ's commercial traffic that has contributed to an improved operating profit during the second quarter of 2025. Within commercial traffic, revenues have increased more than costs, mainly as a result of higher travel numbers and unchanged service provision. Existing and new traffic agreements within procured traffic have also contributed positively.
