Triple celebration for MSC Cruises – MSC World America delivered, keel laying ceremony for MSC World Asia and construction start for brand new ship

On March 27, MSC Cruises celebrates three important milestones in its World Class series together with the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France – The completion and handover of MSC World America, the keel laying ceremony for MSC World Asia and the start of construction of new MSC World Atlantic.

MSC World America is MSC Cruises' 23rd ship and the second in the World Class series. She combines European design with American comfort, appealing to both the North American market and European travelers looking to cruise the Caribbean. MSC World America will cruise to destinations such as Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, Cozumel in Mexico and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private paradise island in the Bahamas.

– We are proud to celebrate the continued development of our fleet in partnership with Chantiers de l'Atlantique. With MSC World America "We are taking an important step to strengthen our presence in the North American market and we look forward to further developing the concept with future ships," says Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, Cruise Division at MSC Group.

The ship will be christened in Miami on April 9 and will begin its maiden voyage on April 12. On board are 20 bars and restaurants as well as a wide range of activities and facilities to suit everyone, from seniors and families with children to couples on a romantic vacation.

MSC World Asia – inspired by Asia
At the same time, it is also celebrated MSC World Asia, the third ship in the series, with a traditional keel-laying ceremony – an ancient tradition of placing a coin under the ship’s keel to bring good luck during construction. The ship combines modern design with influences from Asian culture and nature and is scheduled to debut in December 2026, sailing in the Western Mediterranean.

Construction begins on MSC World Atlantic
The construction of the fourth ship in the series, MSC World Atlantic, has now officially begun. The ship is expected to enter service in the winter of 2027–28, departing from Port Canaveral in Florida and will offer cruises in the Caribbean.
