In the summer of 2025, travel company TUI will expand its offering with two new destinations in Portugal. Cascais or Estoril offers travelers picturesque landscapes, authentic local culture and beachside getaways on the Atlantic coast just under an hour from Lisbon pulse.
Both of these coastal cities offer the perfect combination of relaxing beach holidays, cultural experiences and historic charm, just a 30-minute train ride from the capital Lisbon.
“Cascais and Estoril are perfect for those who want to combine a sunny beach holiday with cultural experiences without long transfers. Both cities offer high-quality hotels, excellent dining options and beautiful beaches, but each has its own distinct character,” says Dian Martinez Valencia, communications manager at TUI.
Cascais – A captivating coastal town
Cascais is a former fishing village that has grown into one of Portugal's most charming beach destinations. Located within easy reach of Lisbon, the town enchants visitors with its authentic Portuguese atmosphere, blending beach life, culture and culinary experiences.
The historic old town, with its narrow alleys, colorful buildings and local craft shops, creates a unique atmosphere. Cascais is also known for its lively restaurant and café culture, as well as its vibrant nightlife that attracts both locals and tourists.
Beaches like the idyllic Praia da Rainha and the surfing favorite Praia do Guincho offer perfect settings for sunbathing and water sports. For active travelers, Cascais also offers cycling and hiking opportunities, such as guided tours to nearby Sintra National Park, organized by TUI.

During World War II, Estoril served as a neutral refuge for exiled royalty and spies, which has left its mark on the town's architecture and atmosphere.
The town's stunning beaches, such as Praia da Poça and Praia das Moitas, attract sun seekers of all ages with their golden sands and clear turquoise waters. The promenade connects Estoril with nearby Cascais and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Golf enthusiasts will find Estoril a unique experience. Estoril Golf Club (Clube de Golfe do Estoril), founded in 1929, is one of Portugal's oldest and most prestigious courses.
