Charter trips from Düsseldorf and Brussels will attract more international guests to Sweden's largest ski region this winter.

For the first time, the travel company TUI is taking holidaymakers from Germany and Belgium on direct flights to Sweden's largest ski destination, Sälenfjällen. On Saturday, December 20, 2025, the first TUI travellers from Düsseldorf and Brussels landed at Scandinavian Mountains Airport. TUI fly will operate the routes weekly until the end of March. During the upcoming season, thousands of TUI travellers are expected to arrive at the ski resorts in Dalarna.
“Winter sports enthusiasts who already know the Alps will find a fresh, Nordic alternative here: vast landscapes, a relaxed atmosphere and state-of-the-art ski areas with a real snow guarantee. Whether families, beginners or experienced winter sports enthusiasts – the region offers experiences for everyone,” says Benjamin Jacobi, CEO of TUI in Germany.
– That the world's largest tour operator TUI chooses to establish two new direct routes, from both Brussels and now also Düsseldorf, is a fantastic recognition for our airport and for the attractiveness of the region. Both Brussels and Düsseldorf are strategically important hubs in Europe. These routes open the door for many new guests to discover our unique mountain world, says Gunnar Lenman, CEO of Scandinavian Mountains Airport.
Offers ski packages to Sälen from four European markets
TUI has previously marketed ski trips to Sälenfjällen for the Dutch and British markets. This winter, the travel company is also offering direct charters from Amsterdam and London. The range includes 20 selected ski hotels and lodges. Many of them are located directly on the ski slopes and offer convenient ski-in/ski-out in the mountains. All hotels and lodges can be booked as packages, including flights with TUI fly and transfers on site.
