Travel company TUI is expanding its hotel concept The Mora with a new resort in the Tunisian desert city of Tozeur. The new hotel will open on November 1, 2025 and offer several restaurants and experiences in a unique environment where culture meets nature.

TUI is introducing its second The Mora hotel, a concept suited to travellers seeking service, relaxation and luxury. The opening of the hotel in Tozeur follows the successful debut in Zanzibar just under two years ago.

“The Mora offers our travelers a new form of luxury with a focus on authentic experiences. The opening of The Mora Sahara Tozeur is a strategic step to grow in carefully selected destinations and reach new customer segments. The positive response from guests at our resort in Tanzania confirms that the concept meets today’s growing demand for tailored experiences,” says Arthur Gerber, CEO of TUI Hotels & Resorts.

A unique destination with rich cultural history
Situated on the edge of the Sahara Desert in western Tunisia, Tozeur is well known as a fascinating oasis town with lush palm gardens and unique architecture. The historic medina, located in close proximity to The Mora Sahara Tozeur, allows guests to experience the region’s rich cultural heritage with centuries-old Berber traditions. In addition to the culturally significant sites, the region offers natural wonders and is home to the nearby Star Wars filming location of Ong Jmal, a distinctive rock formation rising out of the desert.

Luxurious accommodation with focus on experiences
The Mora Sahara Tozeur welcomes guests of all ages and is designed for both relaxing adult stays and memorable family adventures. The hotel offers 93 modern rooms and villas with views of the desert. Enjoy culinary experiences at the hotel's restaurants serving international specialties, local Tunisian dishes, Asian cuisine and barbecues under the stars. The resort offers something for everyone. Active guests can spend time in the hotel's modern fitness center or at the multifunctional sports complex, while guests seeking tranquility can relax at The Pause Spa. At The Mora Sahara Tozeur, both adults and families can create their perfect vacation experience.
The Mora Hotels
The Mora combines luxury with a tailor-made, flexible holistic experience. With the addition of The Mora Sahara Tozeur, the portfolio now includes two distinct resorts, each offering guests authentic experiences in spectacular locations. The brand is part of TUI Hotels & Restaurants, whose portfolio includes over 450 hotels in more than 40 countries around the world.
