The Swedish operator TUI is returning to Visby Airport this winter and is now offering Gotland residents trips to the popular Canary Island of Gran Canaria. The third largest island in the Spanish archipelago of the Canary Islands is a popular travel destination and the first departure date to Gran Canaria (LPA) will be March 20, 2024 in collaboration with the airline Jettime.

The demand for air travel remains strong, both in terms of scheduled traffic and charter, something that the travel operator TUI is taking note of and launching a new charter destination from Visby Airport. Starting on March 20, it will offer charters in collaboration with Jettime to the popular Canary Island of Gran Canaria. The circular island is the third largest in the Spanish archipelago of the Canary Islands, and is one of the most popular travel destinations during the winter months. The route is operated on two occasions, on March 20 and March 28, with a journey duration of one week.

Swedavia is continuously working on route development to meet the need for accessibility by air in our region. Therefore, direct flights to sun and warmth during the winter are very welcome, he says.

We are seeing increased demand for trips to the Canary Islands right now and therefore it feels good to be able to announce that we will again fly to Gran Canaria from Visby Airport.
