Tour operator Tui announced on Wednesday that bookings for summer 2022 are expected to approach the levels seen in 2019. The Wall Street Journal reports.
Bookings for the summer are currently at 80 percent of the 2019 level and the company expects stable development for the year based on continued good demand and enforced restrictions.
The company further states that key markets have not been affected by the war in Ukraine, but that bookings in Nordic countries and Poland have been more subdued since the war started.
”"We are on the right track and the trend is intact. People want to travel, we see demand in bookings and expect a good summer 2022 at TUI. The company is leaner, more digital and more efficient after the pandemic and the transformation," said the company's CEO Fritz Joussen in a comment.
Tui's shares are trading down around 2 percent on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
