Several people were injured on Sunday afternoon when a Ryanair flight was hit by severe turbulence.

The plane took off from Birmingham in the afternoon heading towards Tenerife.

The turbulence occurred when the plane was over France – and they decided to turn around, writes Aviation Harald.

Approximately an hour and a half after takeoff, the plane landed at the same airport again and was met by blue-light personnel.

The number of injured and the extent of the injuries are unclear, but there are no reports of any serious injuries.
