The desire for sun and water, or travel in general, is great among Swedes. Despite the pandemic, many people seem to be planning a summer abroad, according to travel companies. Charter trips to Crete and Rhodes are most popular.

However, search statistics for trips arranged on your own reveal that Turkey is high on the wish list – despite the fact that the Swedish Foreign Ministry continues to advise against non-essential travel there. Spain tops the list.

– Sun-seeking Swedes seem keen to revisit long-standing favorites around the Spanish sun coast. Destinations like Malaga and Alicante are attractive, says Per Christiansen at Momondo, who produced the statistics.

Statistics show that online travel browsing has decreased compared to summer 2019. But the change is small.
