The Twitter account "ElonJet", which uses open data to automatically publish the location of the Tesla founder's private jet, has been shut down.
This is despite Elon Musk promising that the account would continue to exist, as his fight for freedom of speech is more important.
The ElonJet account exclusively followed Elon Musk's private plan and despite Elon Musk explicitly saying that it should remain "even if it is a security risk to himself", the account is now gone. However, the other accounts owned by Jack Sweeney are not.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the student in question does not know why ElonJet was shut down, other than that it "violates Twitter's policies," which he was informed about.
”"They're going to say he's a hypocrite. It shows they can do whatever they want with those rules," notes Jack Sweeney in the WSJ.
According to him, Elon Musk has previously offered to pay $5,000 to have the account taken down. Sweeney reportedly countered by saying he could consider $50,000 or a Tesla, but was blocked in response.
Now the new Twitter owner seems to have solved the problems on his own.
