Two passengers on the Diamond Princess cruise ship have died from the coronavirus, the Japanese government confirms, according to CNN.

The announcement comes the day after passengers who tested negative for the virus began being released after two weeks of quarantine.

A total of 624 people on the ship have been found to be infected.
