Taxi app giant Uber has recently received proposals from Wall Street banks that would value the company at up to $120 billion, over SEK 1,000 billion, in a planned IPO next year.

This is according to sources with insight into the Wall Street Journal.

The figure is nearly double Uber's valuation in a capital round two months ago. It would also mean that Uber is valued higher than the combined value of the three American auto giants General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler.

According to the information, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley delivered the proposal to Uber in September. This is described as a common step before banks are formally hired to handle an IPO.
